What are Young Professionals?
The CoastLife Credit Union Young Professionals (YPs) Group is a dynamic network of emerging leaders under the age of 40 who are passionate about the credit union movement and committed to making a meaningful impact in their communities. Through volunteering, fundraising, and resource donations, the group actively supports those in need, with a strong focus on initiatives like the Community Give-Back Program that provides essential aid to vulnerable populations. By engaging locally and regionally, the Young Professionals break down barriers to collaboration, bring fresh perspectives to the credit union system, and drive positive change. Embodying the credit union philosophy of “people helping people,” they represent the future leaders shaping a stronger, more compassionate community.

In March of 2025, the Young Professionals came together and held a food drive benefiting the Coastal Bend Food Bank. We had a goal to collect 200 items. The group was also invited to participate in the Coastal Bend Chapter of Credit Union’s March Meeting. They were able to contribute items needed to the Gulf Coast Humane Society.
In June we brought in Attorney Joe Brad Brock to discuss “Adulting 101: Wills, Medical POA’s & Peace of Mind”. Topics discussed:
- Why Estate planning matters
- Common Misconceptions
- Understanding Probate
- Benefits of having a Will
- POA - Protect your future

In September, the Young Professionals hosted their 5th Annual Cornhole Tournament at Eddie's Tavern. 38 teams participated and nearly $4000 were raised for their Blessing Bags Project

In October, The Young Professionals had an eventful October with the Coastal Bend Chapter of Credit Unions “TAKE OVER” meet up that took place October 8th at Eddie’s Tavern.
Donations of hygiene products were made by Credit Union staff to benefit the Coastal Bend’s Purple Door. The group also delivered 30 spooky fun BOO BAGS for the children staying at The Purple Door.
This was made possible through proceeds from the Annual Cornhole Tournament and generous contributions from CoastLife employees.

In November, the YP's completed The Blessing Bag project, which is their main community give back – Assembling bags containing everyday hygiene products and essential supplies, then donating to organizations like the Mother Teresa Shelter. In 2025, CoastLife YP’s assembled and donated 200 bags on Thanksgiving morning!
